So much news came from the red carpet of The Comedy Underground red carpet we don’t know what to do with it, so we just have to give you some more! During that carpet, actor Wesley Jonathan let us in on one of his new projects which is a new comedy film titled Budz House which he stated is supposed to be released later this year. During the interview (which we are going to post by the end of the week) we discovered the details of the film.
We hear that the film is a comedy stoner feature that will also feature comedians Faizon Love, Luenell and Emilio Rivera and is produced by Royal Court Productions and Phase 4 Films. The comedy centers around Bud Howard (Wesley Jonathan) and his friends, who discover a giant bag of marijuana and the comedy that follows that as everyday life in the hood plays out, almost like the film Friday that starred Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. When they find out the weed belongs to a local drug lord, they stash it under their house, and it accidentally becomes fertilized and begins growing, so Bud and his friends begin selling “super weed.” The comedy film grows to different heights as they soon become the targets of local gangsters, Mexican Mafia, crooked cops and even Buds’ mom.
Casey Cameron directed the film which was shot in Los Angeles over the course of 12 days.
Stay tuned for our interviews with Jonathan and Luenell coming this week.
