Leslie Jones opened the 2017 BET Awards on Sunday with a hilarious monologue. Check out the video below!

Following a performance by Bruno Mars to kick off the show, Jones started the ceremony by asking the crowd, “What’s up?!” She said she wanted the audience “relaxing your shoulders because this is going to be like a homecoming. I want joy in this house!” Noting her knee brace, she exclaimed, “That’s right. I don’t care!” She then went on to admit, however, that she was “scared.”

“I don’t know all the rappers names,” Jones confessed.” I don’t know if I’m going to mess up somebody’s names. When I was coming up you understood the rapper’s names. The names belonged to them. Old Dirty Bastard was an old dirty bastard… What’s a Lil Yachty? Is that a boat? It’s a small boat? Why don’t you want a big yachty? I don’t understand!”

Repeatedly stressing her age, the “SNL” star said, “I’m about to be 50 years old in September. That’s right! Black don’t crack, but you do have to use some lotion.” She went on, “I know I don’t look 50. I look like I’m in my 30s. That’s what I am in my head… My body be like, ‘You better sit your ass down. You 50, bitch!’” She insisted she’s having “more fun” than those younger, but amusingly took offense at finding a 21-year-old in the audience.

It was announced in May that Jones was host the BET Awards, the first time she’s emceed a major awards show. The extremely funny star, of course, is best known for “Saturday Night Live,” as well as her co-starring role in last year’s Ghostbusters. As the BET Awards host, she follows Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson (2016, 2015), Chris Rock (2014) and Chris Tucker (2013).

Earlier this month, Jones stopped by “Good Morning America” to discuss the gig. “It’s gonna be a ball… I’m about to show all of my booty,” the comedienne joked. She admitted more seriously, “I am very nervous. I want to make sure that I do a good job. I want to make sure that I represent comedy. I want to make sure that I make people laugh.”

Well, there was plenty of laughs as Jones got the festivities are underway. Watch the video below!
