The New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT), whose mission, for 37 years, has been to support the advancement of women in the entertainment industry, will present their 34th annual Muse Awards on Thursday, December 11th at a gala luncheon at the New York Hilton Midtown hotel.
The Muse Awards recognize the outstanding vision and achievement of women in the film, television and digital media industries.
This year’s New York Women in Film & Television Muse honorees include some of the most talented women in the entertainment industry; of note, given this blog’s interests, is Emmy and GLAAD Award-winner, Ms Wanda Sykes. She’s joined by: actress Maggie Gyllenhaal; Dawn Ostroff, President of Condé Nast Entertainment (CNÉ), also known for her leadership at the CW broadcast network, UPN Network and 20th Century Fox Television; and Mary Bailey, a renowned script supervisor who has received praise for her work on “Rosewater,” “August: Osage County,” “Closer,” “A League of Their Own,” and “Men in Black.” She’s currently working on “Ricki and the Flash” with Director Jonathan Demme and Meryl Streep.
