Following the success of their love and relationship book “Manology,” longtime friends Tyrese Gibson and Rev Run are bringing their advice to audiences of OWN.
In a yet-to-be-titled weekly primetime series, the two men will square off in front of a studio audience and celebrity guests in a relationship throw down. Social-media platforms will also galvanize America to ask them their most intimate questions about relationships, marriage and sex.
The eight-episode show is developed and produced by CBS Television Distribution in association with Voltron Pictures and Simmons/Lehman Productions. Eric Pankowski created the show in collaboration with Gibson and Rev Run. Pankowski is the showrunner-executive producer. Joining him as executive producers are Gibson, Joseph Simmons, Jerome Martin, Isabella Castro and Michael Lehman.
It will debut in early 2016.
“When Rev Run, Tyrese and CBS came to us with the idea of a primetime series we were energized by the chance to bring OWN viewers something fresh and entertainingly real in the ‘love space,’” said Sheri Salata, president of OWN. “We can’t wait to turn them loose — enlightening us all about what makes men tick.”
The collaboration marks OWN’s first partnership with CBS Corp. for an original production, said
Scott Koondel, executive vice president and chief licensing officer for CBS Corp.
“Combining the enormous popularity of Tyrese and Rev Run with engaging topics like love and relationships will make a very entertaining hour for viewers,” he added.
