We hear that BET has stepped up to the plate for a new comedy series and reportedly recruited former Girlfriends star Tracee Ellis Ross to not only produce and star in a new, original comedy pilot titled Reed Between the Lines.
Reports state that Ross will play Dr. Carla Reed, “a busy psychiatrist, wife and mom struggling to balance her job and her happy but chaotic homelife.”
We hear that actor Malcolm Jamal Warner (of The Cosby Show fame) is slated to play her husband.
Ross will keep busy during the series as she will serve as co-executive producer alongside Arthur Harris; the pilot was written by Kellie Griffin.
Production is due to begin in Atlanta on Aug. 11.
