TomArnold_hWe just discovered the news; comedic actor Tom Arnold will guest star on the White House-themed sitcom The First  Family which will premiere on BET’s CENTRIC Friday April 19th at 8P/7C!

We hear that Arnold portrays ‘Vice President Arthur Crandall’ – second in command to President William Johnson (Christopher B. Duncan), who is a happy-go-lucky bachelor who’s thrilled with his lack of responsibilities in the day-to-day workings of The White House.  But his cushy existence is thrown into turmoil when he is suddenly needed at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue!

If you are not familiar with the show, here is the show description;

This April, we will premiere the Byron Allen produced sitcom “The First Family” starring a star-studded cast of television veterans including, Christopher B. Duncan, Kellita Smith, Jackee Harry, Marla Gibbs, John Witherspoon, and legendary entertainer, Gladys Knight.

The new comedy series centers on William Johnson (Christopher B. Duncan), a Democrat who attempts to balance his family life with his wife Katherine (Kellita Smith) and their two sons and two daughters as they adjust to living in the White House, while maintaining his duties as the second African-American and 45th overall President of the United States. William also has to deal with other family members, including his boisterous sister-in-law Pauletta (Jackée Harry) and William’s own father Alvin (John Witherspoon), who despite his constant bickering with Pauletta, will sometimes partner together with her for various schemes.

“There’s a huge shortfall of quality family sitcoms, and we are 110 percent committed to filling that enormous void,”
said Allen.
