The National Livin on Laughter Comedy Association will host its annual comedy conference in Atlanta, GA on July 9th through the 11th. The Conference will feature empowerment sessions, a $1,000 comedy showcase competition, and an all-white gala comedy awards banquet. Workshops on “how to write better material” to “how to break into television and film,” and “how to write for sitcoms” will be hosted by veteran comedians like Akintunde, Cocoa Brown, Chinnitta Morris aka Chocolate, Lamont Ferrell, Angel Gaines, Lisa Mills, Vyck Cooley, Darian Perkins, and Willie Brown and Woody. Nationally acclaimed playwright Shelly Garrett from the hit play “Beauty Shop” will also host a segment on “how to act and write for stage plays.”
The conference, which is headed up by Roxanne David aka Miss Clareese has been in existence for six years. This will be the first year that the conference will be held in Atlanta, GA. This year’s conference committee is made up of comedians: Roxanne David, Willie Brown, Kenny “Cornbread” Robinson, Sandi Joy Chadwick and Valena Metcalfe. The committee is encouraging all comedians amateur and professional along with comedy enthusiasts, agents, and promoters.
