Empire star and Golden Globe nominee Taraji P. Henson is returning as host of BET’s Celebration of Gospel. Among the acts slated to perform are Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight, Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett, Yolanda Adams, Erica Campbell, Tamela Mann, Tasha Cobbs, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Tank, Donald Lawrence and Jonathan McReynolds.
Celebration of Gospel will be taped at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on Jan. 9. Its premiere is set for Jan. 31 (8:00 p.m. ET).
Henson first hosted the show in 2014, succeeding television/radio personality Steve Harvey. The actress then welcomed a diverse slate of performers, including Deitrick Haddon, the Rance Allen Group, SWV, Charlie Wilson, Kem and Donnie McClurkin.
