In a move that shouldn’t surprise anyone, VH1 announced that the network will pay tribute to the late great Whitney Houston at the annual VH1 Divas Concert. If you remember, seven years ago many singers took the stage with Houston and performed in a very moving and powerful event. This year, many of those singers will perform songs in memory of her.
According to EURWEB.com, VH1 president Tom Calderone says the upcoming event, set to take place in December, will pay tribute to the late singer with participants singing covers of her greatest hits.
“We all felt that if any show could pay tribute to Whitney’s music, it would be ‘Divas’,” says Calderone.
Houston’s musical director Rickey Minor will serve as executive producer of the show.
