The series, which is exec produced by Christina Aguilera, was picked up in March and will debut with a preview night Sept. 1 with back-to-back episodes. (A formal episode count and subsequent return date have not yet been determined.)
Spike will use Lip Sync Battle to help launch the series, with Tracks bowing Thursday, Sept. 1 at 10:30 p.m. following Lip Sync Battle: TMI (a repeat of the original episode featuring special social-media-infused, behind-the-scenes details) that features Aguilera’s appearance during Hayden Panettiere and Eva Longoria’s battle.
Tracks is described as an innovative musical game show where teams of two attempt to name a song title just by listening to its individual tracks — like guitar, bass, vocals, etc. Tracks, like Lip Sync Battle, will feature surprise celebrity musical guests performing tracks that could either be their own or someone else’s. One of the preview episodes features Tommy Lee performing the drum track during game play. Aguilera will make special appearances both episodes. (Watch a preview below.)

Moss will step into the host role and, in the clip above, does his best to channel LL Cool J’s energy from LSB. He most recently co-starred on CBS’ CSI: Cyber and has hosted BET music video show 106 & Park. His new album, “Underrated,” is due this year.
Tracks arrives as Spike has found ratings and Emmy success with musical game show Lip Sync Battle, which the cabler is looking to spin off with a kids format as well as global sales around the world. Spike next hasCaraoke Showdown, hosted by Craig Robinson, in the works as it looks to build on the success of LSB.
