Fresh from his lisp-heavy performance in Kingsman: The Secret Service, Samuel L. Jackson will now don a lab coat in Simon West‘s remake of 1958 sci-fi classic The Blob.
The thriller, which is set to shoot this fall, will see Jackson play a biochemistry professor attempting to thwart the other-worldly predator discovered deep within the Earth.
Goldcrest Films, which is representing global sales and distribution, launched the film to distributors at the European Film Market in Berlin in February and already has secured deals in Germany, Italy, China, Latin America, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Middle East and South Africa.
Richard Saperstein and Brian Witten will produce along with Jack Harris (the 96-year-old producer of the original Steve McQueen film), Judith Parker Harris and Taewon Chung.
More casting announcements are set to follow.
