Posted Mar 6, 2013

Roy Wood Jr.It looks like comedian Roy Wood is having an amazing week as we discovered that he is about to become a series regular on the TBS show Sullivan & Son and he has just finished filming his Short-Com for FOX.

In Sullivan & Son, Wood recurred as Roy, the best friend of lawyer-turned-bar owner Steve Sullivan (Steve Byrne) who despite running a video rental store, spends his time drinking at the bar.

If you haven’t heard of the new The Short-Com Comedy Hour for FOX, its a new weekly showcase that features four short-form sitcoms, which the network is calling “short-coms,” in one hour long episode. Both up-and-comers and established talent will be featured in the one-act scenes.

For Sullivan & Son, production on season two resumes next week with new episodes slated to return in the summer. A specific premiere date has yet to be determined. TBS renewed the comedy, from executive producer Vince Vaughn, in September for a second season of 10 episodes.

For The Short-Com Comedy Hour, it will feature comedians such as  Neal Brennan, Justin Hires, Dov Davidoff, Kelly Stewart, Michael Kosta, Kevin Smith and Ali Wong, and is slated to debut later this summer as FOX hopes that the series will also act as a new form of development for future multi-camera shows, saying that the best vignettes will be given series orders.
