Regina King has booked a lead role opposite Bill Burr in the FX comedy pilot “Pariah,” which hails from “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” writer/producers John Chernin and Dave Chernin.
The project follows a TV personality (played by Burr) who is blacklisted from the business after an on-air meltdown, and is now forced to create a new life for himself.
No word on what role Regina King will play yet, but I’m sure it’s a welcomed opportunity. She’s been busy since the cancellation of “Southland” last year, mostly TV work, appearing in series like “Shameless,” “The Strain,” “The Big Bang Theory,” and more.
She’ll next be seen on John Ridley’s ABC drama “American Crime,” which premieres mid-season, next year.
