We just discovered from our industry sources that comedic actress Regina Hall signed on today to join the NBC series Los & Order: Los Angeles, and as we hear it’s just in the nick of time. Why do we say that? Well we also hear that the show begins production on Monday.
We also discovered that Hall will be joined by CSI: Miami alumna Wanda De Jesus. De Jesus will play Lieutenant Arleen Gonzales, the cool and authoritative captain of the LAPD Robbery Homicide Division. Hall will play ADA Eva Price, a gorgeous and brainy bombshell with a strong sense of moral rectitude.
You may have recognized Hall from her past comedic roles in such films as the Scary Movie franchise films, Superhero Movie, Malibu’s Most Wanted, King’s Ransom, The Honeymooners, and Death At A Funeral just to name a few. But we know she can also do dramatic films as she did in films such as The Best Man, Love & Basketball, Danika, and most recently Law Abiding Citizen. And how can we forget she was a former Ally McBeal co-star which mixed both comedy and drama.
The two join previously cast Skeet Ulrich, Alfred Molina, Terrence Howard, and Corey Stoll.
We can see how Hall got on this because one of her first acting gigs was a guest spot on New York Undercover which was co-created by Dick Wolf who is the Law & Order creator and Executive Producer.
Next up for Hall is two comedy films; Scary Movie 5, and Mardi Gras.
