It looks like the wait is finally over; earlier on Sunday afternoon Oprah Winfrey announced via Instagram that comedian Mike Epps is going to play Richard Pryor in the new biopic!
This announcement came as Oprah made the announcement by posting a picture from their first table read which shows Epps with Winfrey and Lee Daniels (who is also the Director of the film and who also confirmed via his on Twitter account).
The caption states “@LeeDanielsent, @TheRealMikeEpps, and me just finished a great 1st read session. #RichardPryorMovie.”
As you already know, this news comes after years of film development and changing of producers and speculation that the other actors such as Nick Cannon, Marlon Wayans and Michael B. Jordan and several others possibly had landed the role. Now it looks like Epps is the official actor!
