It looks like the upcoming year is going to get even better for comedian Mike Epps. First, Epps is about to be seen in the upcoming film Sparkle, and many industry insiders are saying that Epps has really shown a new side to his acting ability, and several have even mentioned to us that he could seriously be mentioned for Oscar consideration for that role!
Second Epps is still touring across the country and selling out shows nationally! Finally, Epps has agreed to jump back to his comedy roots and he has agreed to be in the third installment of the film, Hangover 3.This news comes weeks ahead of the official word that the next Friday installment is coming- which all indications seem very likely.

Having already given Ken Jeong a bigger part in the next installment of “The Hangover” franchise, Todd Phillips is now ready to bring back an old favorite from the first pic.
Mike Epps is in negotiations to reprise his role of Black Doug in “The Hangover 3” for Warner Bros.
Phillips is back to direct with original cast members Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis set to return. Legendary will co-finance the pic with WB.
Plot details are being kept under wraps. Warners plans to release the pic on May 24, 2013.
Phillips co-wrote the script with Craig Mazin. Phillips and Daniel Goldberg will produce with Legendary’s Thomas Tull exec producing.
In the original “Hangover,” Epps played the drug dealer who is mistaken for the group’s missing friend Doug and kidnapped by a gangster played by Jeong.
ICM- and Niles Kirschner-repped Epps can be seen next in Screen Gems’ “Sparkle.”
