We discovered from several industry web sites that Maya Rudolph has finally set up a show at NBC and is set to debut next month. The show has long been rumored to be coming down the pipeline for several years, and our sources said that NBC finally felt that it’s time was now.
The new variety show, titled The Maya Rudolph Show, will air as a one-hour special on Monday, May 19th at 10pm and will be looked at as a pilot for a new series, which is what Rudolph is planning. According to the network, many of the Saturday Night Live alum are going to be on board, with Andy Samberg, Fred Armisen, Chris Parnell scheduled to appear on the show with Kristen Bell, Craig Robinson and Sean Hayes. According to NBC, musical star Janelle Monáe will serve as the night’s guest and Raphael Saaddiq is on board as the bandleader.
