As we previously mentioned several times, comedian and actor Martin Lawrence will be returning to television this summer in the new buddy comedy series titled Partners. The half-hour series will star Lawrence and comedian and actor Kelsey Grammer as Chicago lawyers from vastly different backgrounds who develop a partnership after they unexpectedly meet in court on the worst day of their lives.
We discovered last week that the FX network finally officially picked up the show to series and released the debut date of the show; Monday, Aug. 4, at 9 p.m.
Everyone in Hollywood is anxiously awaiting Lawrence’s return to television as outside of making movies, Lawrence has made only brief TV appearances since Martin ended in 1997.
Lawrence will also be joined by veteran TV actress Telma Hopkins, who was last seen in the Disney series Lab Rats. Hopkins will play Lawrence’s overbearing mother.
