Marlon Wayans' 'What The Funny' Officially Launches!

Posted Feb 14, 2014

WTF Studios, Inc. announced today the formal launch of WhatTheFunny.com

HOLLYWOOD, CA – February 13, 2014 – WTF Studios, Inc., founded by popular comedian Marlon Wayans and FunnyOrDie.com co-founder Randy Adams, officially launched their web site WhatTheFunny.com and smart TV network this week. The site, since soft launching in November 2013, already has a following of more than one million unique viewers and is growing by 50% monthly.

With half a dozen series already in place on the site and 160 episodes of original content under development, WhatTheFunny.com is quickly becoming a destination site for comedy fans. Wayans and Adams took a distinctly different approach by creating a destination web site and smart TV network in lieu of a YouTube channel. In addition to featuring A-list talent like Marlon Wayans, Damon Wayans Jr. and Omar Epps, it also has engaged several YouTube sensations to create original content. “YouTube is a great way for emerging artists to garner an audience, but a very difficult place to build a sustainable business”, said Adams. “We are helping YouTube artists actually make money by sharing higher advertising revenue with them and giving them an off-YouTube destination for their content. We have reached out to the best of the best on YouTube and have build them a channel on our site, and our current additions include Todrick Hall, well-known hip hop artist Trae Tha Truth, and YouTube luminaries J. Snow and Top Rope Zeus.”

With Marlon Wayans latest movie Haunted House 2 about to hit theaters on April 18th along with his TBS reality show, Funniest Wins airing in the spring with a top prize of a series on WhatTheFunny.com, Wayans is well positioned to serve up the funny to a hungry audience. “The thing that makes What The Funny different from every other comedy network is that everything we air has to pass our high bar for funny.”, said Wayans. “We want viewers to expect hilarious when they come to our network and we work every day to make sure we meet their expectations.”

WhatTheFunny.com is currently available on the desktop web, mobile web, and in mobile apps. It will be available shortly on the most popular Smart TV platforms. For information on the Curated Content program, contact talent@whatthefunny.com
