As this story continues to grow there are folks who step forward to either show their support for comedian Tracy Morgan or they back off completely.
Celebrities such as Tina Fey to Chris Rock have responded to the to the comedian’s homophobic jokes. As of this writing, it seems that now actor/comedian Marlon Wayans has an opinion on the matter.
“He has the right to say what he says,” said Wayans at the 15th Annual Webby Awards. “But he has to be a little more responsible and write a little bit and think a little more before he does it next time.”
“But that’s why I don’t like people having cameras in the comedy clubs,” he added. “Because you’re just throwing thoughts out there, and that’s the creative process. You’re going to offend some people as you’re finding the lines. Now, he didn’t find a line, he found a cliff. But unfortunately, that happens.”
He then continued his thought sharing that he wasn’t that offended when Michael Richards from Seinfield comedian made his infamously racist rant.
Finally, he wrapped it all up saying, “Tracy needs to work his material” before performing it. “I don’t think he’s a homophobe. I’ve worked with him. Tracy’s a cool dude. I just think he says dumb stuff.”
