Malcolm-Jamal Warner Joins Amazon’s New Series Titled ‘Sneaky Pete’!

Posted Jun 20, 2016

Malcolm-Jamal Warner will recur on Amazon’s upcoming series “Sneaky Pete,” according to reports.

The gig comes after Warner’s prominent role in the critically-acclaimed FX series “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” which has substantial Emmy buzz.

“Sneaky Pete” follows a con man named Marius, played by Giovanni Ribisi, who upon leaving prison assumes the identity of his former cellmate, Pete. He moves in with Pete’s unsuspecting family and becomes roped into the clan’s bail bond business where he’s tasked with hunting down criminals.

Warner will play James Bagwell, Pete’s (Ribisi) parole officer, who is described as clean, meticulous, mercurial and volatile. He will appear in a minimum of three episodes with the option for more.

The streaming con-artist drama, which is set to premiere this year, hails from co-writers and exec producers Bryan Cranston and David Shore. The series was originally in development at CBS, before heading over to Amazon where its pilot launched in August 2015. Amazon ordered “Sneaky Pete” to series in September of last year. The full season is expected to debut this year.

Aside from “People v. O.J. Simpson,” Warner — known for “The Cosby Show” — has been recurring on TNT’s “Major Crimes.”
