More stars are joining Saturday Night Live’s milestone celebration.
SNL50: The Red Carpet — a kickoff special airing live across NBC, E! and Peacock on Sunday night ahead of the main event SNL50: The Anniversary Special — has booked hosts Willie Geist and Leslie Jones and correspondent Matt Rogers to appear. It kicks off at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT and will feature red-carpet interviews with many of the bold-faced name guests attending the anniversary special.
SNL50: The Anniversary Special, a live three-hour telecast from Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center, will include appearances by Adam Driver, Adam Sandler, Amy Poehler, Andy Samberg, Ayo Edebiri, Bad Bunny, Chevy Chase, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Eddie Murphy, Fred Armisen, Garrett Morris, Jane Curtin, Jason Sudeikis, Jimmy Fallon, John Mulaney, Kate McKinnon, Kenan Thompson, Kim Kardashian, Kristen Wiig, Laraine Newman, Martin Short, Maya Rudolph, Miley Cyrus, Molly Shannon, Pete Davidson, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Pedro Pascal, Peyton Manning, Quinta Brunson, Robert De Niro, Sabrina Carpenter, Scarlett Johansson, Seth Meyers, Steve Martin, Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Tom Hanks, Will Ferrell, Will Forte, Woody Harrelson and more.
Geist hails from the NBC family and is currently seen on NBC News’ Sunday Today with Willie Geist. He is also a co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe and a regular host of Today in addition to contributing across NBC News programs. Jones, of course, is an SNL alum who earned three Emmy nominations for her work on the iconic sketch comedy show. Rogers works as a comedian, actor, writer, and podcast host. He’s got ties to SNL thanks to the popular pop culture podcast Las Culturistas with Bowen Yang. Rogers’ screen credits include No Good Deed, I Love That For You, and Fire Island.
SNL50: The Red Carpet is produced by Jesse Ignjatovic, Evan Prager, and Barb Bialkowski for Den of Thieves. As previously reported, Chicken Shop Date creator and host Amelia Dimoldenberg is serving as a red carpet correspondent for the SNL50: Red Carpet Livestream that is airing across all SNL social and digital platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X and TikTok) from 7-8 p.m. ET.
But before that happens, Jimmy Fallon will host the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert from Radio City Music Hall on Friday night. Executive produced by Lorne Michaels and Mark Ronson, the concert will feature performances from Arcade Fire, Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Brittany Howard, Chris Martin, David Byrne, DEVO, Eddie Vedder, Jack White, Jelly Roll, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Mumford & Sons, Post Malone, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Robyn, The B-52s, The Roots and more.
It was announced on Thursday morning that Cher, Lauryn Hill, Dave Grohl, Snoop Dogg, St. Vincent, and Wyclef Jean have joined the party of performers while Ana Gasteyer, Andy Samberg, Maya Rudolph, Paul Shaffer, Tracy Morgan, and Will Ferrell are now confirmed to appear.
