Kevin Hart Is Joined By Michael Ealy & Regina Hall For New Film!

According to Variety, it looks like Screen Gems Studios is at it again, especially when they have a winning formula. According to the report, it looks like Kevin Hart will be joined in his new film About Last Night with two cast mates from his past hit film, Think Like A Man; Michael Ealy and Regina Hall.

As Screen Gems continues to search for a director on its untitled remake of “About Last Night,” the studio has begun reuniting the cast of its box office hit “Think Like a Man,” as Michael Ealy and Regina Hall are in early talks to join comedian Kevin Hart in the Leslye Headland-scripted pic.

Screen Gems had no comment.

Romantic dramedy will follow a pair of Chicago residents who meet through friends, move in together and then break up while fighting feelings of reconciliation.

Based on David Mamet’s play “Sexual Perversity in Chicago,” original 1986 pic was directed by Ed Zwick and starred Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Jim Belushi and Elizabeth Perkins.

While official offers to Hall and Ealy have not yet gone out, the latter thesp is making a deal to play the male lead originated by Lowe. His love interest has yet to be cast.

Hart was already attached to the role played by Belushi, that of the protag’s mischievous but loyal wingman. Hall will play the female lead’s best friend who has a love-hate relationship with Hart’s character.

Rainforest Films principal Will Packer is producing along with Will Gluck, who has directed a trio of Screen Gems pics including “Easy A” and “Friends With Benefits.”

Packer produced “Think Like a Man,” which grossed $91.5 million domestic and led to development of a sequel that will be written by original scribes Keith Merryman and David A. Newman.

Ealy is a Screen Gems favorite, having recently starred in “Underworld: Awakening” and the Packer-produced “Takers.” He’s also been busy on the small screen, starring in USA’s “Common Law” and recurring on Showtime’s “Californication” and CBS’ “The Good Wife.” He’s repped by the Gersh Agency, manager Darryl Taja and attorney Matthew Johnson.

Hall has starred in all four “Scary Movie” pics and also worked with Hart on Screen Gems’ remake of “Death at a Funeral.”

She’s repped by ICM Partners, Principato-Young Entertainment and attorney Mitch Smelkinson.
