Back in 2010 Russell Simmons and Stan Lathan and the minds that brought you HBO’s Def Comedy Jam delivered an all new stand-up comedy show hosted by hosted by JB Smoove titled Russell Simmons’ Stand Up At The El Ray.
Well, after a little hiatus it seems that they are back and with comedian JB Smoove hosting.
The last series, which was hosted by Smoove looks to kick off a whole new season on Comedy Central and we hear that the folks at Simmons/Lathan are already in full swing auditioning new talent.
As of this writing, we hear that this year’s taping will be in New York where they are planning to capture the original roots set by the fore fathers of the original Def Comedy Jam. We also hear that the auditions are underway in August and taping should commence in September.
