Jamie Foxx Drops His Directorial Debut; The Short Titled '…And She Was My Eve'!

Posted Nov 4, 2013

If you recall, several months ago we told you that actor and comedian Jamie Foxx was going behind the camera a midst his filming of The Amazing Spider Man as Foxx had expressed interest in directing films, and we discovered that he started taking steps toward that goal with a short film for a project with Canon. The program is shepherded by producer/director Ron Howard.

What project you ask? Well, last fall Canon U.S.A., Inc. had aligned with 5 selected directors to helm short films, based on winning photographs selected from thousands of submissions from photographers like you. The 5 filmmakers selected 10 photographs each.

Well, fast forward several months and we see that Foxx was able to shoot and direct his project for Canon under the “Project Imaginat10n” short film umbrella titled …And She Was My Eve.

According to the film listing, it stars Tyrin Turner (Menace II Society) and Foxx’s Django Unchained co-cast member Nichole Galicia.

The official synopsis reads:

A man scarred early in life by unrequited love works to attain the perfect mate. In the end, he may get more then he bargains for.

The “10” in “Imaginat10n,” represents ten storytelling elements that are key to each film – Discovery, Character, Mood, Goal, Backstory, Setting, Obstacle, Relationship, The Unknown and Time.

As part of the agreement, the films were all shot on the Canon Cinema EOS System.

In addition to Foxx, Eva Longoria, Biz Stone, Georgina Chapman and James Murphy were also selected.
