Jamie Foxx Developing Another Scripted Series, This One Is Set For TNT!

Posted May 15, 2013

Jamie FoxxActor and comedian Jamie Foxx is really pulling out all of the stops this year, as we hear from several reports that he is developing ANOTHER television show; this one titled Dad, Stop Embarrassing Me for TNT.

As we reported last week, Foxx is already in development on a new show for the SyFy Channel that he is going to write, direct, and executive produce, The series is currently yet-to-be titled 5-episode horror anthology set to debut during their annual 31 Days Of Halloween programming marathon this October. The reports from the network are that the series, which is being compared to TV classics like Tales From The Crypt and The Twilight Zone, will  tell tales of morality with themes like envy and jealousy.

This morning during their upfront presentations TNT and TBS unveiled their upcoming slates of both scripted and unscripted shows that are in development and we were shocked to hear Foxx’s name mentioned with others such as Steven Spielberg, Diablo Cody, Denis Leary, Sylvester Stallone, and Dick Wolf as we thought that Foxx was only on board with SyFy. Imagine our surprise.

Anyway, the new  untitled show has Jamie King set to executive produce and will be written by Marsh McCall and Foxx and is set up as it was supposedly inspired by his daughter.

The show’s description;

Every teenager is embarrassed by his/her parents. But what if your dad decided to descend upon your life in every way? Inspired by Jamie Foxx’s relationship with his 18-year-old daughter, this comedy explores the dynamic between a parent and a child and all the embarrassment that comes with it.

We hear that Foxx is currently in New York still filming his role as Electro the villain in the upcoming sequel to The Amazing Spiderman, while he also is set to co-star opposite Quvenzhane Wallis in the Overbrook Entertainment remake of Annie.

More news soon.
