Amidst all of the rumors surrounding the new Mission: Impossible 4 film, we have heard a couple of items in the past week that we want to share with you- including the latest news item.
First, we hear that Paramount is going to re-launch the franchise and probably drop the Mission: Impossible name from the film and try a new reboot with the Ethan Hunt character played by Tom Cruise.
Second, we know for a fact that the role of the new agent as the new operative/secret agent will go to actor Jeremy Renner, and actor Anthony Mackie is no longer up for the film. We heard several things on why, but we won’t go into it here.
Third, the new casting for the female operative to play alongside Renner and Cruise is down to a couple of slots, and we hear actress Paula Patton (of the films Precious and Just Wright) may have a chance as she is one of the actresses testing for the part. We also discovered that actress Lauren German (of Hostel: Part II and Happy Town) is the other candidate.
Lastly, we know that the film will shoot this fall with Brad Bird directing.
Patton just wrapped shooting the film Jumping The Broom with Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine, Mike Epps and DeRay Davis. She also recently signed on to star in the dramatic film titled This Wednesday as the lead role.
