Several weeks ago we reported the news that comedian and Academy Award Best Supporting actress Mo’Nique was coming back to BET for a new show, and according to our sources, BET was hiring staff to get it started soon.
Back then the former host of The Mo’Nigue Show went on Twitter several days later and denied our report.
Well, yesterday our sources gave us a little bit more information about Mo’Nique’s new show; they said that the new show will be produced by Mo’Nique and her husband Sidney Hicks, and that they are closing in on the new show with BET. Our sources also stated to us that it will be some type of new ‘strip show’ meaning, that Mo’Nique will be a host of an entertainment styled show that will be broadcast on BET daily, something similar to Entertainment Tonight, except geared towards a younger urban audience.
Now, we are not sure how close this deal is to closing but we have heard from several sources that Mo’Nique is closing in on this new show. I guess we will have to see if we are right or if we are wrong.
