According to our sources, we hear that actress Anne Heche is attached to board the new Lee Daniel’s biopic film of Richard Pryor as Pryor’s last wife, Jennifer Lee Pryor.
It’s unclear yet if this move is official but we are working diligently to discover how much truth to this news really is. If this is true, this would seem to be a very interesting casting decision since we haven’t seen Heche in any major film roles in awhile.
As you may already know, Jennifer Lee Pryor was married to Pryor twice and is one of his seven wives as he was married seven times to five different women. Jennifer Lee was his last wife until his death in December 10, 2005. Her first marriage to Pryor lasted several days and was quickly annulled, but Jennifer Lee and Richard later re-connected right around the time when he became sick and married again.
Ann Heche is probably best known for several film projects including John Q., Psycho, Six Days Seven Nights, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Donnie Brasco. There was a time when she was a significant subject of widespread media interest when she was dating comedian Ellen DeGeneres, but she has since moved on and has married.
So far, Oprah Winfrey has been confirmed to be on board the project as Richard Pryor’s grandmother Marie Carter, who is famously known to have been the Madame of a brothel back in Peoria, IL. As you know, Mike Epps is on board as Pryor.
No official word has been made on any casting yet.
