Today we discovered from our sources that actress Gabrielle Union has recently joined the cast of Chris Rock’s new comedy film titled Finally Famous! Our sources stated that Union is playing a reality-TV star engaged to Rock’s character joining actress Rosario Dawson in the new film.
The film has Rock as a comedian-turned-film-star who tries to reinvent himself as a serious actor. He’s also a recovering alcoholic who owes his sobriety to his fiance (Union). Her character, eager to be more famous, ties to convince Rock to get married on her show.
Dawson plays a journalist assigned to interview Rock’s character for a New York magazine feature story. A former party animal, Dawson’s journalist is now sober and in a committed relationship, but sparks fly as she interviews Rock, and all hell breaks loose as Union discovers what is happening.
Rock wrote and will direct the film, his third behind the camera. Scott Rudin is producing the movie, which will shoot in New York this summer.
