Fuse Media, the parent company of Fuse and NUVOtv networks, has greenlit a half-hour stand-alone field-based comedy starring comedian Gabriel Iglesias (aka Fluffy) as part of a multi-year partnership to develop new original comedy series. Their first project, Fluffy Breaks Even! (wt) begins production today in Las Vegas.
The six-episode series, set to premiere on Fuse in October, will feature Iglesias along with his tour mates and fellow comedians Martin Moreno (Stuck, The Fluffy Movie: Unity Through Laughter) and Rick Gutierrez (I’m Not Mad, I’m Just a Parent, Gabriel Iglesias’ Stand-up Revolution). The series will follow the pair as they travel to new cities, exploring the comedic consequences when members of Fluffy’s crew want to eat a high-calorie meal. They’ll have to “break even” the next day by burning those calories, learning that fun comes with a price – exercise.
“Gabriel is the perfect example of the type of talent that is part of Fuse’s new goal of representing New Young America – the young millennial tastemakers and trendsetters who are revolutionizing today’s culture and whose influence is evident on and offline,” said Fuse President Bill Hilary.
In addition to this project, Iglesias is executive producing three one-hour comedy specials for the network, and at least one additional series, currently in development.
Fluffy Breaks Even! is executive produced by Gabriel Iglesias and is a co-production with B-17 Entertainment and Arsonhouse Entertainment.
CAA brokered the deal with Fuse Media on behalf of its clients Gabriel Iglesias and B-17.
