Los Angeles, CA, July 01, 2015 – Production Company, Silver Lining Entertainment announces renowned Comedian, Actor and OWN TV Reality Star Flex Alexander as host of The Comedy Underground Series. At seven-thirty p.m. on July 17, 2015 at the historic Alex Theatre (located at 216 N. Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA 91203), Flex and six entertainers will take to the stage for a night of urban comedy. Known for providing first-class, comic relief, Silver Lining Entertainment is proud to share the hilarity of yet another group of rising stars and established comedians for new Volumes 3 and 4.
Host, Flex Alexander has garnered national attention as of late on OWN TV’s reality show “Flex & Shanice,” chronicled for the world to see his challenges of fame and fortune. Comedy Underground” Creator and Executive Producer, Angela White shares, “Flex is the perfect choice to emcee this event. I am thrilled to be producing these new comedy concerts that will showcase what I know to be some of the most talented comedic acts around. Flex Alexander will bring his industry edge, wit and charm as the new host of the series. I am confident we have a winning formula.”
No stranger to Hollywood success, Silver Lining Entertainment Founder, Angela White is on a professional roll with her most recent and successful screenings at the 19th annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF). Her award-winning film, “The Night Before” and the thriller, “The Sin Seer,” starring Lisa Arrindell Anderson, who won best actor at the festival.
Ms. White, a Los Angeles-based film Producer, has worked on such films as Overflow Entertainment’s “My Favorite Five,” “My Sister’s Wedding,” “Who Can I Run To,” “The Last Letter,” and a variety of other well-respected films earning both commercial and critical success. Supporting the barrage of laughter alongside the series Executive Producer, White, stands “Marriage Chronicle’s” Director/Producer, Paul D. Hannah and “Blackbird”, “Supermodel” and new urban horror franchise “Superstition” for Lionsgate/Codeblack Producer, Carol Ann Shine.
In conjunction with the upcoming production of Volumes 3 and 4, there is good news for fans awaiting the release of the Comedy Underground Series Volumes 1 and 2, hosted by the perennial funnyman, Tony Rock. The premiere is set to air in mid-July on the Urban Movie Channel (UMC) and is being distributed by RLJ Entertainment, Inc. “Silver Lining Entertainment is enthusiastic to be having such strong reception and numbers forecasted for the series,” stated Angela White. “We have deep and extensive relationships in the comedy world and look forward to making our mark with this project.”
