We decided to drop a comedy classic clip from Martin Lawrence’s performance from HBO’s Def Comedy Jam as we prepare to see Lawrence this season on his new show on CBS with Kelsey Grammer. The new show, set to premiere on FX will get a 10 episode order of the odd comedy.
Grammer and Lawrence both play Chicago lawyers from vastly different backgrounds who unexpectedly meet in court on the worst day of their lives. Brought together by fate and greed, they develop a partnership and friendship, forcing each other to find the balance between the ethical and unscrupulous in their professional and personal lives.
The comedy, still untitled, from Lionsgate Television and Debmar-Mercury, is set to land 90 more episodes if the first 10 perform well. If Lawrence is set to bring back his comedy from what we remember the show should be a lock.
