Faith Evans; ‘A New Notorious B.I.G. Album Is In The Finishing Stages’!

Posted Mar 31, 2016

Faith Evans first announced that she was working on an album with vocals from The Notorious B.I.G. a year-and-a-half ago. Now, that project might soon become a reality.

“Right now, I’m recording this project, a duet album with me and Big called The King & I,” Faith said on The Dame Dash Show. “That’s something I’ve been thinking and talking about doing with Ms. Wallace for a long time…I’m kind of in the finishing stages.”

Faith was married to the late rapper and is mother to one of his children, Christopher Jr. She added that they’re working on a hologram for performances, but it’s still in development stages.

This won’t be the first posthumous Big album, but it’s been almost a decade since the last. Greatest Hits was released in March 2007, while Duets: The Final Chapter, which took known and previously unheard verses and paired them with new production and artists, dropped in December 2005. In 1999, two years after the rap legend was murdered, Born Again topped the charts.

“If he was alive, I know, ultimately, we would have done something like this. But the way the stuff is coming together and the way I’m using his vocals, it’s just giving stuff new life. It’s totally different. I think people are gonna like it.”
