EXCLUSIVE-TV One’s Unsung To Brand Into Unsung Films; Up First- R&B Miki Howard!

Posted Oct 28, 2015

We just discovered the news that TV One and their Unsung brand is about to launch their hit docu-series from not only a show but to a film series!

If you are not familiar, TV One’s Unsung is by far the network’s most popular show averaging over a million viewers per episode. The show has featured many artists, from Al B Sure to Xscape, and while doing so the show has easily ranked among Television’s top 3 original series telecasts on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. among Black viewers.

With that being said, we hear that the network is now adding the show to a film series and we hear that the first artist to be featured is R&B/Jazz singer Miki Howard! Howard is probably best known from her string of hits in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, including “Baby, Be Mine“, “Come Share My Love“, “Love Under New Management” “Ain’t Nobody Like You” and “Ain’t Nuthin’ in the World“.

What would be interesting to see is if the film addresses the rumor that has circulated in Hollywood for year about Howard having a child with pop icon Michael Jackson.

Unsung is narrated by actor Gary Anthony Williams and is Executive Produced by Arthur Smith, Kent Weed and Frank Sinton of A. Smith & Co. Productions. Mark Rowland is Co-Executive Producer. Lamar Chase is Producer and Jubba Seyyid is Executive in Charge of Production for TV One. D’Angela Proctor is Head of Original Programming and Production for the network.
