According to our sources, we just discovered the news that comedian/actress Tiffany Haddish (of Real Husbands Of Hollywood fame) has just landed a role in the forthcoming feature film titled Keanu, which is also starring and produced by the comedy duo Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.
We hear that the film is currently shooting in New Orleans and Haddish will be heading down there early next week.
The New Line Cinema-backed film will mark the first feature film to star both Key and Peele, both of whom are MADtv alums and who are best known for their Comedy Central sketch series, fittingly titled Key and Peele.
Directed by Peter Atencio, the film reportedly will tell the story of a group of friends who pose as drug dealers in order to rescue a stolen cat, named Keanu. In the film, Haddish also plays one of the gangsters named Iced- T. The only other announced cast are Key, Peele, and Method Man.
Keanu was written by Peele, along with Alex Rubens (Key and Peele, Community).
No release date has been announced.
