If you recall, several days ago, we reported that our sources told us that comedian and actor Bill Bellamy and Vivica Foxx were all set to land in the new Byron Allen sitcom titled Mr. Box Office. Well, today Bill Bellamy confirmed our story about his hiring on Twitter via @teambillbellamy when his team stated that Bellamy did land the role.
Now, I guess we have to wait on the official news of the rest of the casting; especially the news about Vivica Foxx. Mr. Box Office has an order of 104 episodes launching in prime time beginning in the fall. So far, no word on which network.
It should be noted that there has been no announcements about creative talent behind the camera or cast for Mr. Box Office. We did hear that comedians Tony Roberts and JB Smoove (of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm fame) was also set to star, but as of this morning we heard that JB Smoove was unable to accept due to his new role in the Smurfs 2.
Anyway, more rumors came our way of the other cast members who are supposed to join the show. We heard that actress Keisha Knight Pulliam (of The Cosby Show), Jon Lovitz, and EX-NBA Star Rick Fox were all set to join. When we spoke to Entertainment Studios directly about the new castings, that was neither confirmed nor denied.
As this story develops, we will keep you in the loop!
