If you remember, several months ago we told you that Director, playwright, and five time NAACP Award-winning author David E. Talbert (Of First Sunday fame that starred Ice Cube, Tracy Morgan and Katt Williams) was prepping his new feature film titled Baggage Claim, starring Paula Patton and Derek Luke.
The film was first a play that Talbert toured nationally and eventually the play became a New York Times best selling book. After several years Talbert was able to move forward with the plans to turn the book into a feature film. If you are not familiar with Baggage Claim let us quickly refresh your memory with the official book description;
Whom will she choose? Damon Diesel, a P. Diddy wannabe; Reverend Curtis P. Merewether, pastor of Greater House of Deliverance, Tabernacle of Praise, Worship, and Miracles; pompous attorney-turned-councilman Langston Jefferson Battle III; or Quinton Jamison, a multimillionaire who’s twenty years her senior?
Outrageously funny…witty and charming, Baggage Claim is a divine literary debut from award-winning playwright David E. Talbert.
Now let fast-forward to the present; Talbert has been editing the film and is scheduled to release it on September 27th. The cast is a who’s who list of some hot actors in Hollywood, and some names that may even surprise you because they are in a comedy; the film stars Paula Patton, Derek Luke in the lead roles and also stars Taye Diggs, Jill Scott, Trey Songz, Boris Kodjoe, Djimon Honsou, Adam Brody, Jennifer Lewis, Lauren London, Rickey Smiley, Lala Anthony and many more!
