A couple of weeks ago there were reports about Anthony Anderson starring in a new show with Lawrence Fishburne (and also to be produced by Fishburne). The new show is said to be titled Black-ish, set up for the fall. The show is written by Kenya Barris (of BET’s The Game fame) and is ‘loosely based on his personal experiences as it centers on an upper-middle-class black man (Anderson) who struggles to raise his children with some sense of cultural identity despite constant contradictions and obstacles coming from his liberal wife, old-school father, and his own assimilated, color-blind kids.’
After the news was released we happened to bump into Anderson at the new Comedy spot in Los Angeles titled Inside Jokes (hosted by Chris Spencer and produced by Jeru Tilman), and we asked him about the upcoming show.
