The story of former NBA all-star Baron Davis is heading to television as a single-camera comedy at Fox from 20th Century Fox TV and the Walcott Co., the studio-based shingle of New Girl‘s co-star Jake Johnson and director Max Winkler.
Davis and Lilly executive produce with Kate Gordon and The Walcott Co.’s Winkler. The project joins another autobiographical comedy project of a sports personality this development season, ABC’s Men In Shorts, inspired by the story of openly gay soccer player Robbie Rogers.
The Walcott Co. also has 100 Grand, an action comedy project at Fox, and Bachelor Party, inspired by the movie, at ABC. Johnson and Mary Lee. Johnson is repped by UTA, 3 Arts and Jackoway Tyerman; Lilly is with UTA and Shuman Co., Winkler is with CAA, Management 360 and Jackoway Tyerman.
