According to several industry reports we have discovered the news that comedian Deon Cole (of The Black Box fame) is joining a comedy for TBS from Steve Carell and his wife Nancy titled Angie Tribeca.
The reports state that Cole will co-star along with Rashida Jones (the lead of the show), Jere Burns, and Andree Vermeulen who all co-star on the series, with Alfred Molina, Lisa Kudrow, Gary Cole, Nancy Carell, Macarthur and Matthew Glave making appearances in the pilot.
We hear that TBS has ordered 10 episodes of the show.
The single-camera comedy, whose pilot was written by Steve and Nancy Carell and directed by Carell, focuses on an eccentric but brilliant group of LAPD detectives who investigate crime, reveal way too much personal information and refuse to rest until justice has been served-sort of. Jones plays Angie Tribeca, a lone wolf who’s capable, committed, strong and not thrilled when her boss (Burns) tells her she has to work with a partner (guest star Hayes Macarthur).
No word yet on the par that Cole will play but we will let you know as son as we hear!
