Oyelowo is certainly very busy at the moment. Projects on his slate include Mira Nair’s awards season drama “The Queen of Katwe;” Amma Asante’s period drama “A United Kingdom” (also a likely Oscar contender); He’s also prepping to film the Paramount and J.J. Abrams-produced sci-fi thriller “God Particle,” which will be directed by Julius Onah (Oyelowo and Gugu Mbatha-Raw star in the film); he’s attached to a potential TV series about the first all-black police squad in the USA, in St. Louis, Missouri, in the 1920s/30s, to be titled “The Black 22s; he’s attached to star in a film adaptation of journalist Gary Younge’s non-fiction book “A Day in the Death of America” which deals with gun violence in America; and there’s more…
In addition to HBO’s upcoming ambitious serialized take on the sci-fi/western “Westworld,” Thandie Newton will also be seen on the big screen with Jessica Chastain and Kit Harington in the drama “The Death and Life of John F. Donovan.”
