Dave Chappelle To Perform With John Mayer On New Year’s Eve In LA At The Forum!

Posted Sep 26, 2017
Over the course of 2017, good friends Dave Chappelle & John Mayer, one an Emmy Award-winning comedian, the other a GRAMMY® Award-winning musician, have played several intimate pop-up shows across the United States. Now, Live Nation is pleased to announce that the two world-class performers will be bringing their unique music and comedy hybrid to an arena stage for the first time, as they present Controlled Danger at the Forum in the Los Angeles area on New Year’s Eve 2017.
Tickets go on sale to the general public starting Friday, September 29th at 10AM through LiveNation.com.
Chase customers can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Wednesday, September 27 at 10AM through Thursday, September 28 at 10PM via Ticketmaster.com.
The first half of the New Year’s Eve performance features a solo musical set by John Mayer, and a solo comedy set by Dave Chappelle. The real magic happens during the second half of the evening when both performers join together on stage for songs, stories, improvised dancing, and more. That is to say—hilarity ensues.
Ring in 2018 with two of the greatest creative minds working today, for a night that you won’t soon forget. Celebrations will include a balloon drop at midnight, and of course, party favors.
A limited number of exclusive ticket packages will be available for the show starting Wednesday September 27 at 10AM PT. Select packages include premium tickets, VIP lounge with preshow refreshments including beer & wine and meet & greet with Dave and John.
Please note that phones will not be allowed within the arena. However, commemorative photo opportunities will be made available (at no extra cost). For more details on phone policy, please see below.
Dave Chappelle is a comedian, actor, and producer who’s brash, clever, in-your-face brand of humor has made him one of the most respected entertainers of his generation. In March 2017, Chappelle returned to television via streaming giant Netflix with two highly-anticipated specials, The Art of Spin, and Deep in the Heart of Texas, filmed in Los Angeles, CA and Austin, TX respectively. Comedy Central ranks Chappelle as Number 43 of the “100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time.” Esquire Magazine has called him “the comic genius of America,” and he was featured on the cover of GQ Magazine’s Man of the Year issue in 2015. In April 2017, he graced the cover of The New York Times’ T-Magazine.
It’s been a prolific year for singer/songwriter/artist John Mayer. By New Year’s Eve, Mayer will have performed 60 concerts on his “The Search for Everything” world tour and 35 Dead & Company stadium and arena shows. The seven-time GRAMMY winner also unconventionally released his acclaimed album, The Search for Everything, in three separate waves, which went straight to No. 1 on iTunes. And spattered in between tour dates, John Mayer joined Dave Chappelle for four, sold-out “Controlled Danger” performances.
