Dave Chappelle Is Bringing His Comedy Tour To Syracuse!

Posted Aug 14, 2015

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Comedy king Dave Chappelle will bring his stand-up tour to several Upstate New York cities this fall, including Syracuse.

Chappelle performs live at The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater on Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $57 and will go on sale Monday, Aug. 17 at 10 a.m. and will be available in person at the Solvay Bank Box Office at The Oncenter (760 S. State St.), by phone (315-435-2121) or online at Ticketmaster.com.

If you can’t make it that night, Chappelle will also stop at the Rochester Auditorium Theatre on Oct. 3 and Albany’s Palace Theatre on Oct. 4.

In 2006, Esquire called Chappelle “the comic genius of America,” after he abruptly exited his hit Comedy Central series “Chappelle’s Show” in 2005. Chappelle famously escaped to South Africa for several weeks and kept a low profile for years afterward.

In 2013, he burst back into the public eye as the headliner for the Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival, a 15-city tour presented by the website Funny or Die.

Known best for his biting commentary on race in America, the 41-year-old comic gradually resumed his stand-up career in the past two years.
