After initial reports that he created participated in “emotional abuse” and created a “hostile work environment” on set, Lethal Weapon co-lead Clayne Crawford has been booted from the Fox show.
The initial report from Deadline said Crawford, who plays Martin Riggs opposite Damon Wayans‘ Roger Murtaugh, “has had a history of bad behavior on the show and had been “disciplined several times over complaints of emotional abuse and creating a hostile environment.” Things reportedly became so bad that other actors and crewmembers felt uncomfortable being on set with Crawford.
His actions have put a potential Season 3 renewal for the show in jeopardy. TVLine, who broke the news that Crawford is out, says “Fox and its studio partner Warner Bros. are actively searching for an actor to replace the embattled actor in the role of Martin Riggs. The outcome of the 11th hour recasting effort will largely determine whether Fox renews the series for Season 3.” THR, who later confirmed the news, says multiple actors have already passed on the gig.
Lethal Weapon, based on the film series of the same name, also stars Keesha Sharp and Jordana Brewster.
