Last night at The American Black Film Festival’s 4th annual Comedy Wings Competition, sponsored by HBO, in Los Angeles, at the Ha HaCafe the four winners were selected to move on to Miami for the ultimate crown!
Comedians Del Harrison, Tyree Elaine, Kareem Chapman, and Anton Shuford were all selected as finalists!
The Comedy Wings Competition is a national search for the new stars of comedy. The goal of the competition is to provide a platform for talented yet undiscovered comedians to break into film and television. Nine semifinalists were selected from around the country to participate in the live audition in LA, and the four comics mentioned above were hand picked by the judges to proceed to the finals event at the 2016 ABFF in Miami, June 17th.
The night was a huge success as many celebrities were in the house, as comedian Guy Torry was the host of the event as new movie star Chadwick Boseman (of the new Captain America: Civil War fame) also attended and more! We will post pics of the event soon!
