We just discovered that comedian Robert Powell has officially been named the newest member of the Shaq Comedy All Star Jam Tour. Robert Powell, an award winning comic from Louisiana, has won a number of comedy competitions including Louisiana’s Comedian of the Year 3 years in a row.
Before becoming a full time comic, Powell served as Deputy Chief of Staff to a Mayor in Louisiana, and has served as Chief of Staff to an Agency Head in Governor Jindal’s Administration in Louisiana. We hear that when he was forced to pick between politics and comedy Powell walked away from his political job for the unknown waters of the comedy world.
Powell auditioned for the Shaq Comedy All Star Jam Tour several months ago at the NBA All Star Weekend in Orlando and it only took 5 minutes for the shows producers to decide that he would be a good fit for the tour. Robert’s performance at the competition was so outstanding that he was added to both main shows that very night in Orlando.
You can catch Robert on the Shaq All Star Tour this year and when he’s not doing that, he is opening for Comedian Earthquake all over the country.
