Comedian Leslie Jones Lands A Role In The New Chris Rock Film 'Finally Famous'!

Posted Jun 13, 2013

Leslie JonesToday several sources have told us that comedian Leslie Jones, probably best known from her guest stint in the film Lottery Ticket (the comedy that starred Bow Wow and Brandon T. Jackson), has just landed a role in Chris Rock’s new comedy film titled Finally Famous!

That film has Rock as a comedian-turned-film-star who tries to reinvent himself as a serious actor. He’s also a recovering alcoholic who owes his sobriety to his fiance.

The film also stars Gabrielle Union and Rosario Dawson and our sources stated that Union is  playing a reality-TV star engaged to Rock’s character.  Her character, eager to be more famous, tries to convince Rock to get married on her show.

Dawson plays a journalist assigned to interview Rock’s character for a New York magazine feature story. A former party animal, Dawson’s journalist is now sober and in a committed relationship, but sparks fly as she interviews Rock, and all hell breaks loose as Union discovers what is happening.

Rock wrote and will direct the film, his third behind the camera. Scott Rudin is producing  the movie, which will shoot in New York this summer.

No word yet on the role that Jones will be playing or where she will fit in this story but as you can probably bet she will bring tons of comedy to this new film.

This story is still developing.
