Dulcé Sloan has been announced as NBCUniversal’s 12th annual “StandUp NBC” comedy showcase winner, which was held at the Hollywood Improv comedy club in Los Angeles. As part of her winnings, Sloan will be signed to a talent holding deal with the network.

The event was hosted by a former “StandUp NBC” alumni, Tone Bell. The actor/comedian is just one of four who previous winners who have gone on the have careers, including starring in NBC series this year – Brandon T. Jackson, Ron Funches and Lil’Rel Howery being the other 3.
“Every year ‘StandUp NBC’ finds unknown comics with solid potential for our programming,” said executive producer Jandiz Cardoso. “Last year we discovered Lavar Walker, who was immediately brought into the next season of ‘Last Comic Standing.'”
“There were so many talented standups in NBCUniversal’s ‘StandUp NBC’ showcase and we are excited to have a talent hold deal with the hilarious Dulcé Sloan,” said Grace Wu, Executive Vice President of Casting for NBC Entertainment, in congratulating the winner. This year’s nine finalists were selected from a pool of more than 40 semifinalists across the nation.
The 2015 finalists included Alex Sparling, Alvin Irby, Christina Galston, Ian Aber, Jesus Sepulveda, Orlando Leyba, Trenton Davis and Randy Syphax, in addition to Sloan.
“I am very blessed to have this opportunity,” said Sloan. “I’d like to thank my mother and NBC for embracing me and my talent.”
Select finalists will also join the “StandUp NBC” college tour. In partnership with the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA), the participants on tour are expected to perform at more than 50 college campuses nationwide. Additionally, select finalists will be featured in February at the NACA national convention in Louisville, Ky.

Sloan’s credits include an honoree earlier this year as a “New Face” at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival. She has also appeared on ABC’s “Resurrection” and the FOX NFL Sunday pre-game show, “Riggle’s Picks” with Rob Riggle.
