Chris Tucker has definitely slowed down the rate of his movie roles over the past few years, but he has a full slate of stand-up comedy performances coming up, including a big show in Tampa with comedian DL Hughley.
Tucker and Hughley will hit the stage at Amalie Arena on Sept. 8, the arena announced today. Tickets, priced at $41.75 and $61.75, go on sale July 14 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster and the arena’s box office.
Tucker, who starred in comedy classics such as Friday and the Rush Hour franchise made a much-heralded return to the stage in 2015 with the Netflix special Chris Tucker Live.
Most recently Tucker appeared in Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk (2016), and Silver Linings Playbook (2012). There’s also the long-rumored fourth Rush Hour film, which as recently as March director Brett Rattner told Entertainment Weekly was still happening.
Hughley is first and foremost a stand-up comedian, though his many forays into TV include his sitcom The Hughleys, a CNN talk show and a turn on Dancing With the Stars. His most recent comedy special, Clear, debuted on Showtime in 2014.
